An ultralight bike bag for the freedom to travel
At Buds, every gram counts.
The TRAINBAG LIGHT has been designed to offer maximum protection with minimum bulk.
Made from ultra-light technical fabric, it allows you to carry your bike like a piece of luggage, with no extra costs or time restrictions.
Thanks to its dimensions in line with European rail standards (130 × 90 cm), the bag is accepted on most trains - even during rush hours.
It's the perfect solution for travelling freely with your bike, in complete simplicity.
Ingenious design: lightweight, protective and simple
The Dutch article also underlines the cleverness of the TRAINBAG LIGHT.
Its carrying pouch is more than just a case: it also serves as fork protection during the journey.
Once you've reached your destination, the pouch transforms back into a compact, easy-to-carry bag.
And for cyclists on the move, Buds has thought of everything:
the pouch is equipped with an integrated attachment system that allows it to be fastened to handlebars, luggage racks or backpacks.
A 2-in-1 design that perfectly illustrates the brand's philosophy: protect, simplify and liberate travel.
Tested and approved in the Netherlands
Dutch journalists have tested the cover on the NS network, and the result is unanimous:
" MTB, gravel or road bike, it all fits!"
Only the wheels need to be removed - there's no need to touch the saddle or handlebars.
The bike remains stable and protected thanks to reinforced zones and an intelligent design that avoids direct contact between mechanical parts.
Compatible with all major European railways
The TRAINBAG LIGHT is renowned for its international compatibility:
- 🚄 SNCF (France)
- 🚆 Deutsche Bahn (Germany)
- 🚅 Renfe (Spain)
- 🚈 Trenitalia (Italy)
- 🚉 SBB (Switzerland)
- 🚄 ÖBB (Austria)
- 🚆 NS (Netherlands)

Translation of the article:
Finally, taking the train at rush hour!
Any cyclist who regularly travels by public transport knows the problem: you can only take your bike on the train outside rush hour. What's more, the NS (Dutch rail company) charges €7.95 per day - which ends up being expensive if you take the train a lot. There had to be a more practical solution, thought French brand Buds. And they've found it!
It has developed the Trainbag Light, an ingenious cover that allows you to carry your bike on the train at any time, as a simple piece of luggage. The bag includes protective cushions in sensitive areas, such as the fork. Buds has of course studied which trains accept the Trainbag, and the list is impressive: SNCF (France), Deutsche Bahn (Germany), Renfe (Spain), Trenitalia (Italy), SBB (Switzerland), ÖBB (Austria), NS (Netherlands) and SJ AB (Sweden). In other words, it'll take you everywhere!
We tested the cover in the Netherlands. It does take a little time to disassemble the two wheels, but once that's done, the bike can be easily transported on the train. MTB, road or gravel: everything fits! No need to lower the saddle or turn the handlebars. Just make sure you clean the chain, sprockets and cassette, otherwise the cover will quickly get dirty inside. And don't forget to take along an Allen key if you need to dismantle your wheels.
Once you've arrived at your destination, reassemble your bike and fold the bag into a small
handlebar bag, which you can easily attach using the straps provided. And off you go!
We'll be enjoying it for a long time to come.
We tested the Trainbag Light, specially designed for bikepackers, but four other models are available on the site - for example, for transporting bikes on buses or planes.
