Finally, taking the train during rush hour!
Any cyclist who regularly uses public transport knows the problem: you can only take your bike on the train outside of peak hours. What's more, NS (the Dutch railway company) charges €7.95 per day—which adds up if you travel by train frequently. There had to be a more practical solution, the French brand reasoned. Buds -Sports. And she found it!
She developed the Trainbag Light An ingenious cover that allows you to transport your bicycle at any time on the train, just like regular luggage. The cover includes protective padding in sensitive areas, such as the fork. Buds Sports has, of course, researched which trains accept the Trainbag, and the list is impressive: SNCF (France), Deutsche Bahn (Germany), Renfe (Spain), Trenitalia (Italy), SBB (Switzerland), ÖBB (Austria), NS (Netherlands), and SJ AB (Sweden). In short, it will take you everywhere!
We tested the cover in the Netherlands. Indeed, it takes a little time to remove the two wheels, but once that's done, you can transport the bike without difficulty on the train. MTB Road bike or gravel bike: everything fits! No need to lower the saddle or turn the handlebars. Just be sure to clean the chain, sprockets, and cassette, otherwise the bag will get dirty quickly inside. And don't forget to bring an Allen key in case you need to remove your wheels.
Once you arrive at your destination, reassemble your bike and fold the cover into a small bag.
handlebars that you can easily attach using the straps provided for this purpose. And off you go again!
We will continue to enjoy it for a long time.
We tested the Trainbag Light , specially designed for bikepackers, but four other models are available on the site — for example for transporting bicycles by bus or plane.
