Which bag should you choose for your bikepacking or cycle touring trip?

Bikepacking or bicycle touring, take only the bare essentials.

Travel light without bulk with our Light range covers! But which bag should you choose for your bikepacking or touring trip? At Buds, we offer a range optimized for both, in three variations:

  • By removing both wheels:
    The TRAINBag Lightan SNCF-standard bag (130 x 90 cm)
  • Keeping the rear wheel on the bike (a Buds exclusive):
The ROADBag Light (for road bikes) and the MTBag Light (for MTB and large road bikes)

The Buds Light range is designed specifically for bikepacking and touring.

The Light range covers are ultra-light, compact and easy to store in a bag or backpack. They take up very little space and weigh less than a kilogram, between 790g and 890g depending on the model.

If you're planning to travel by train, it's important to respect the standards imposed by the SNCF. You can travel with your bike at no extra cost if it is stored in a transport bag no larger than 120 x 90 cm. In this case, the TRAINBag Light is the right bag for you.

MTBag Light
The ROADBag Light and the MTBag Light have been designed with the same special feature in mind: they allow the rear wheel to remain on the bike - a Buds exclusive. This reduces handling and isolates the transmission from the ground. It only takes a few seconds to
store your bike in the bag!
If your bike is equipped with a luggage rack, choose a ROADBAG or MTBAG Light.

A range compatible with all bikes: MTB, Road, Gravel, Fixie, City

There's bound to be a model in the Light range to suit your road, MTB or gravel bike.

Optional accessories for total protection

To perfect the protection of your bike, we have developed a range ofuniversal accessories : a fork protector(Fork Bike Protect), a universal bike mount, a pair of pedal protectors(Pedals Protect), a frame protector (FRAMEProtect) and a MTB handlebar protector (HANDLEBAR Protect) .

Universal support, fork protector and pair of pedal protectors

  • The universal support is highly recommended when purchasing a TRAINBag Light. It isolates the transmission from the ground once both wheels have been removed, and prevents the cover from being damaged by the crankset.
  • The fork protector will effectively protect your fork from impact and also prevent damage to the cover from protruding parts.
  • A pair of pedal protectors will be particularly useful for spiked pedals, protecting your cover from the risk of tearing.

Frame and handlebar protectors

The universal bracket and fork protector feature adjustable straps for easy, secure attachment to your bike's frame or rack. So they don't take up space in your luggage.
