Do I need any additional accessories if I buy a bicycle carrying case? Buds -Sports?
The bag itself is sufficient for transporting the bicycle. However, if you wish to maximize the security of your bicycle during transport, we strongly advise you to add the accessories.
We are never completely safe from mishandling during transport that could damage the bicycle or its frame. That's why we've created a complete range of innovative accessories that effectively protect your bike, ensuring safe transport.
What accessories are recommended with the TRAINBAG CLASSIC ?

Is it better to keep the rear wheel on or remove it for transporting the bike?
We always advise you to keep the rear wheel for two main reasons:
The transmission, and in particular the rear derailleur, as well as the chainstays and seatstays, are fully protected by the rear wheel support on the bike.
It is much faster to pack your bike into its travel bag if you only need to remove the front wheel.
What are the differences between the TRAINBAG CLASSIC and the TRAINBAG ORIGINAL ?
There are two differences between the TRAINBAG CLASSIC and the TRAINBAG ORIGINAL :
The wheel pockets are padded on the TRAINBAG ORIGINAL whereas they are not on the CLASSIC.
Furthermore, the fabric used for the ORIGINAL is slightly thicker than that used for the CLASSIC.
In the end TRAINBAG CLASSIC It is lighter and more compact when packed in its carrying case.

Bought my first BUDS bag a week ago and used it to travel to Berlin in Flix- and DB-trains this weekend. After many years of struggeling with non-working reservations in ICE bike compartments this was truly a revelation. I cycled to the station, packed my bike on the platform, and upon arrival simply reassembled flew home. No extra costs, no reservation needed. This is train traveling with bicycle made easy.
I used the cover on my MTB Before an enduro ride. Result: not a single scratch on my bike despite the flying stones. Very satisfied!

A practical and seemingly sturdy carrying bag (used twice). The reinforced wheel hubs are a welcome feature. The only drawback is that the carrying pouch is very (too) small; folding the bag into its pouch requires some skill... I think this bag would benefit from being a little less compact.
Furthermore, I received a very warm welcome at the Carcassonne location when I picked up my order :)
Superb cover, exactly as described. I always use it for my TGV journeys. I recommend getting the additional protective covers with it for optimal protection. Highly recommended.
Superb cover.
I still recommend taking extra protection, especially the frame protector to raise it and the derailleur protector. When you carry the cover over your shoulder with the bike inside, the cover presses against the derailleur, so be careful if you have high-end derailleurs ;)
Otherwise, it's a great cover, but I don't have anything to compare it to!
TRAINBAG CLASSIC
I'm delighted with my bag, which allowed me to transport my disassembled bike on the train without any problems. There's not much padding, but that was expected when I bought it, and you're careful during transport. The Velcro bags for the wheels and the small side reinforcements for the crankset are sufficient. It's easy to pack, and the cover is practical and can be carried on the handlebars. Everything matches the description on the website. Delivery was on time, and they immediately refunded a price difference due to a last-minute model change. That's the Bud's team for you!
TRAINBAG CLASSIC
Gravel XL Origine Trail with 40 wheels and TUBUS Titanium rear rack, equipped with derailleur guard: Everything fits correctly and the cover is closed without needing to lower the saddle and take out the handlebar.
It is very compact when folded and the bag can also be placed on top of a rear luggage rack (between rear panniers) if there is a handlebar bag.
Just keep in mind that you have to insert the bike into the cover in one direction: the handlebar placed between the wheels (otherwise it is not possible to close and the Velcro fasteners are not opposite the places intended for their use).
I bought the cover TrainBag Original I bought this cover for a TGV trip with my road bike, and I'm really happy with it! The cover is sturdy, easy to fold, and lightweight, which is super convenient for travel. It protects the bike well, especially with the reinforced wheel protectors. I was a little worried about handling it on the train, but it worked perfectly. It's compact enough to meet the SNCF's size restrictions, and I had no trouble transporting it. Excellent value for money for those who travel frequently with their bikes.

This cover is very practical; I appreciated being able to bring my dirty bike home without getting dirty myself. Of course, it doesn't eliminate the weight of the bike, but it's a real comfort.
TRAINBAG CLASSIC 2024
Carrying it is a bit of a pain, especially when you're short! Why not consider a backpack-style carrying system? (Personally, I'm going to look into it because I'm not at all convinced by shoulder straps.) On the other hand, carrying the empty bag is really great.

THE TRAINBAG CLASSIC This year, like all our covers, it features adjustable handles. This was indeed a recurring request from our customers.
You should therefore be able to properly adjust the handles of your cover to facilitate carrying.
The backpack-style carrying system is also a very good idea that we've already considered, but it wouldn't be suitable for the TRAINBAG CLASSIC whose primary purpose is to be a lightweight and compact cover.

Used for my first train trip without having tested the cover beforehand, I had no trouble fitting my disassembled road bike into the bag on the station platform. I did, however, remove the rear derailleur (without taking off the chain) to avoid damaging it. The bag, once folded, takes up relatively little space. I recommend it. trainbag classic which is simple and effective.
